What is the IVF Due Date Calculator?
The IVF Due Date Calculator is a tool that calculates an accurate due date based on the embryo transfer date or egg retrieval date for those who have undergone IVF (In Vitro Fertilization).
🧬 IVF Calculation Method
- • Day 3 Embryo Transfer: Transfer date + 263 days = Due date
- • Day 5 Blastocyst Transfer: Transfer date + 261 days = Due date
- • Based on Egg Retrieval Date: Retrieval date + 266 days = Due date
* While normal pregnancy is last period date + 280 days, IVF allows for more accurate calculation since the fertilization date is known precisely.
🔬 What is Embryo Stage?
- • Day 3 Embryo: An embryo 3 days after fertilization, consisting of 6-8 cells.
- • Day 5 Blastocyst: An embryo 5 days after fertilization, consisting of about 100 cells and ready for implantation.
- • Egg Retrieval Date: The date when eggs were retrieved from the ovaries, which corresponds to "Day 0 of fertilization".
💚 Characteristics of IVF Pregnancy
- • IVF pregnancy allows for more accurate week calculation than natural pregnancy
- • Pregnancy week will be reconfirmed through ultrasound examination
- • Higher possibility of multiple pregnancies (twins or more)
- • May require more intensive prenatal care
🎯 Important Examination Schedule
- • 6-8 weeks: First ultrasound (heartbeat confirmation)
- • 11-14 weeks: Early detailed ultrasound, NT test
- • 16-18 weeks: Birth defect screening (Quad test)
- • 20-22 weeks: Mid-pregnancy detailed ultrasound (including fetal heart examination)
- • 24-28 weeks: Gestational diabetes test
- • 36 weeks and after: Additional examinations and delivery preparation
⚠️ Note: This calculator is a tool to guide the expected due date. The actual delivery date may differ by about ±2 weeks, and please consult with your obstetrician for accurate diagnosis and management.
